Sanjay Mirchandani has been President & Chief Executive Officer of Commvault since 2019. In that time Sanjay has transformed the company into a cyber resilience leader that’s trusted by enterprises around the world to keep their data and applications safe, secure, protected, and recoverable.

Under Mirchandani’s leadership, the company has also transformed its business model, partner ecosystem, and go-to-market execution. This, combined with an industry-leading cyber resilience platform and an always-on approach to innovation has turned Commvault into a high-growth, highly profitable company.

Mirchandani has been focused on helping customers solve hard problems, investing nearly $1B in R&D. He incubated and launched a dynamic, scalable SaaS business, which today is one of the fastest growing offerings in the industry. And he’s extended the company’s breadth and depth of cloud-first offerings through acquisitions like Appranix and Clumio.

Prior to joining Commvault, Mirchandani was the CEO of Puppet, a leading open-source IT infrastructure and automation company, where he grew the company’s user base to more than 40,000 companies, including 75 percent of the Fortune 100. He also held senior leadership positions at VMware, EMC, and Microsoft.

Mirchandani earned his bachelor’s from Drew University and MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. He also serves on the Board of Directors at Itron, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITRI).

As Chief Technology and AI Officer, Pranay Ahlawat is the leader, developer, and AI evangelist responsible for continually innovating Commvault’s unrivaled cyber resilience platform and delivering on our vision for todays and tomorrow’s unrelenting threat landscape.

A product and business strategist, Pranay most recently led a product innovation and engineering practice with a particular focus on the future of software engineering and infrastructure software at Boston Consulting Group.

Pranay earned his bachelor’s degree from Delhi College of Engineering, his master’s in electrical engineering from Cornell University, and his MBA from Wharton School. When he’s not working, he enjoys sudoku, hiking, and skiing.

Poojan Kumar, Commvault’s Chief Product Innovation Officer, leads the company’s innovative product development strategy for today’s cloud-first, data driven world.

An engineering visionary, Poojan re-envisioned how data is managed, analyzed, stored, and recovered at companies including Nutanix, VMware, and Oracle. And as an entrepreneur, he built, scaled, and led the acquisition of multiple successful companies. Most recently, he co-founded and was CEO of Clumio, which Commvault acquired in 2024.

Poojan earned his bachelor’s in computer science at the Indian Institute of Technology and his master’s in computer science from Stanford University.

As Chief Security Officer, Bill O’Connell is responsible for Commvault’s cyber defense, product security and customer assurance, further strengthening the company’s presence as a trusted innovator and partner for today’s evolving threat landscape.

Bill comes to Commvault with twenty years of expertise in cybersecurity and data privacy. As Head of Product Security at Roche, Bill led a team of cybersecurity experts delivering secure medical technology and digital health and solutions on-premises and in the cloud across care settings. In his 12 years at ADP, Bill led a variety of business risk, privacy and security operations, including five years as Chief Business Security Officer. Prior to joining ADP, Bill worked for Deloitte, building and executing strategic information security roadmaps for global Fortune 500 firms.

Bill holds BA and MBA degrees from the University of Maryland. He previously served as Chair of the National Cyber Security Alliance Board of Directors and remains actively involved in various industry working groups focused on threat intelligence and privacy.

A strategic leader with deep expertise managing complex global legal, privacy and security systems, Danielle has repeatedly scaled Corporate Trust operations for public technology companies, led IPOs and other transformative strategic transactions, and counseled leaders and boards on significant governance and shareholder matters.

Prior to joining Commvault, Danielle served as Chief Legal Officer at financial technology services company Bottomline (NASDAQ:EPAY) and at cloud-backup SaaS solutions provider Carbonite (NASDAQ:CARB).

She currently serves on the Boards of Manhattan Associates (NASDAQ: MANH) and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Melissa Hathaway

Melissa Hathaway is globally recognized as a thought leader in the fields of cybersecurity and digital risk management and has relationships with the highest levels of governments and international institutions, including NATO, the ITU, the OAS, and the World Bank. She has a distinguished affiliation at Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, Canada’s School of Public Service, and Toronto Metropolitan University.  Internationally she advises programs and research initiatives at: the Digital Science Institute — European School of Management and Technology, Germany; GLOBESEC, a global think tank, Slovakia; the Centre for International Governance Innovation, Canada; the Kosciuszko Institute, Poland; and the CyberLaw Research Program at Hebrew University, Israel.

Ms. Hathaway served in two Presidential administrations where she spearheaded the Cyberspace Policy Review for President Barack Obama and led the Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative for President George W. Bush.  She built a broad coalition from within the Executive Branch for two Presidents, developing a cybersecurity strategy covering unprecedented scope and scale that will now facilitate revolutionary improvements for the United States to secure and defend its critical national infrastructures.  She received the National Intelligence Reform Medal, September 2009 and the National Intelligence Meritorious Unit Citation, December 2011 for her leadership.

As President of Hathaway Global Strategies, she consults Fortune 500 companies on cybersecurity, enterprise risk management, and technology assessment.  She helps organizations understand their most critical assets, services and data, and maps digital risks to the organization’s business, financial and risk objectives, and advises clients regarding industry leading practices, emerging cyber threats, policy initiatives, regulation, legislation, court decisions or other industry matters that may affect their current and future business.  Having served on the board of directors for four public companies and three non-profit organizations, and as a strategic advisor to a number of public and private companies, Ms. Hathaway brings her clients a unique combination of policy and technical expertise, as well as board room experience that allows her to help clients better understand the intersection of government policy, developing technological and industry trends, and economic drivers that impact acquisition and business development strategy in this field.

Ms. Hathaway has a B.A. degree from The American University in Washington, D.C.  She has completed graduate studies in international economics and technology transfer policy, and is a graduate of the U.S. Armed Forces Staff College, with a special certificate in Information Operations.
