Empowering Voices: Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at Commvault

To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month across our global Vaulter community, our Multi-Culture and Women in Technology Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) hosted an insightful and inspiring virtual event featuring acclaimed author Patricia Engel.

Patricia, a New York Times bestselling author, graced our Vaulter community with a keynote address that highlighted how her Colombian heritage and culture have shaped her worldview and influenced her celebrated writing career. Patricia treated us to a reading from her latest book, The Faraway World, a captivating collection of stories that explore the themes of belonging, migration, and identity.

During the conversation, Patricia shared deeply personal reflections on her experiences growing up in a bicultural household in New Jersey. She discussed how the contrasts between her Colombian upbringing at home and American society outside shaped both her perspective and her writing.

Patricia emphasized the significance of her immigrant community as a source of resilience and inspiration, touching on the complexities of identity, belonging, and the sacrifices made by those who leave their homeland in pursuit of a better future.
