Commvault Sweeps the 2021 IT World Awards® with Gold Globee® awards for Disaster Recovery and Metallic SaaS

When your company consistently receives broad ranging recognition of leadership – from the data center to the cloud – you know you are meeting your customers’ needs all along their digital transformation. That’s why I’m excited to share that we’re the proud recipients of two Gold Globee awards in this year’s 16^th Annual IT World Awards – Commvault in the “Data Center Backup and Recovery” category and Metallic in the “Cloud Computing/SaaS category” – exemplifying the “The Power of And” that our portfolio brings to our customers!

For me, these awards highlight the trust that our customers place in using our technology leadership to solve their most complicated data management challenges. Just ask Arvest Bank, the oldest and largest bank in Arkansas, about Commvault’s data backup and protection. Josh Kimes, Network Systems Engineer at Arvest said, “The backup tools that I’ve administered in the past were definitely far behind the curve compared to Commvault. Other products that I’ve used don’t seem to innovate and update their software in order to support backups for new technologies nearly as quickly as Commvault does.” This is why, as a longtime Commvault customer, when Arvest looked to implement Microsoft Teams to drive its remote collaboration, Metallic SaaS was the clear choice to safeguard that data. It’s stories like this that show our true commitment to staying one step ahead of our customers’ needs.

Leading in both Disaster Recovery and SaaS data protection

This year’s IT World Awards are yet another perfect example of how we continue to lead the data protection industry by offering futureproof solutions. Open to all worldwide Information Technology and Cyber Security organizations and their end-users of products and services, the IT World Awards is one of eleven premier business awards programs and ranking lists organized by the Globee Awards, and is judged by more than 65 industry experts from around the world.

In the Data Center Backup and Recovery category, Commvault Disaster Recovery has bagged the Golden Globee for ensuring business continuity and verifying recoverability across our customers’ data center, cloud, and other environments, with streamlined, automated disaster recovery orchestration, flexible replication, and verified recovery readiness – support our customers are seeking now more than ever.

For example, to contend with the rise in ransomware attacks in the healthcare industry, Sang-seok Park, Department Head of Information Strategy at SAM Medical Center turned to Commvault to upgrade the facility’s backup infrastructure and prevent data loss. Park said, “Commvault is the only vendor we found that offers an all-in-one solution for backup and disaster recovery. Commvault gives us the confidence that we can respond immediately to unexpected events, such as a ransomware attack or data loss caused by user mistakes.”

And, in the Cloud Computing/ SaaS category, we have won the Golden Globee for our Metallic Backup as a Service (BaaS) portfolio. Since launching in October 2019, Metallic has seen strong growth – we are available in 24 countries and counting, with unmatched flexibility and breadth of coverage across workloads including VMs, endpoints, Office 365, Salesforce, and Microsoft Dynamics. Most recently, we launched Metallic Government Cloud with FedRAMP High In Process – In PMO Review – making Metallic the only comprehensive SaaS data protection solution to currently meet the highest confidentiality, integrity, and availability standards recognized by the U.S. government. It has certainly been a whirlwind and an exciting journey to be part of.

As we have seen, especially over the last year, disaster recovery and ransomware are on the rise, with cybersecurity one of the top priorities for organizations of all sizes.
